In 1962, Honda revealed its first 50cc-class works racer, the RC110. At the same time, it released a road-legal version called the CR110 Cub Racing. Like many small-capacity motorcycles of this era, these were elegant machines, with a delicate minimalism that seems to appeal more and more. The beauty in the picture isn’t a sixties racer, though. It’s the Honda Dream 50R, a limited edition model released in 2004 to commemorate Honda’s early racing history. I'm pretty sure I could take this bike around the world. Black side down, shiny side up.

There really has to be a limit to how much I can be tortured by beautiful bikes. This is a Gilera Saturno. I'm not terribly sure I could keep the shiny side up but, damn, I'd like to try.
No electronics, hard linkages, a carb you can fix with a popcan. Pretty easily sex on wheels. |

I like bikes. It turns out that my Suzuki GT 250 generated the classic motorcycle sound for the movies. It's loud enough and angry enough to give your chest a good shake.
Guys with 650's or 1100's kinda laugh at the little 250. But they hear it roar and there are slack jaws all about. (I think that there is going to be a full frame-strip over the winter.) |

Okay, I'm pretty sure I can't afford any machines that Confederate produces but, for me, it is serious bike-porn. With names like Wraith, Hellcat and Fighter these bikes make my knees weak. They look like they are going fast when standing still. No cargo allowance, so they aren't practical but, damn I love carbon-fibre and aluminium.
I've had a hard time keeping the front wheel of my little gt250 (two-stroke) on the ground because it's so squrelly. I can't imagine what piloting one of these would be. The Harley-D engine would weigh it down but a RZ engine would make it seriously dangerous. I guess that's the attraction; jump on something dangerous and control it. I guess that's why someone, at some point, said 'hey, lookit that horse'. |

I love it when someone does something so out of the Ordinary. This is from the Berlin Design Festival 09

I like bikes. Bikes with engines, bikes without engines. Mostly with engines, though.

Two wheels, three wheels, four wheels. All good.

I used heavy gear oil on my bike's cables and chain; I didn't know it would be so stinky. And it's really stinky. But it sure is liquid.

Yeah, it can do an inversion. Rusty bike pulling negative G's.
I wouldn't recommend it, though |
